Going out in Glasgow

The city of Glasgow, some may say, is the capital of cool. Cultural and cutting edge it has a great mixture of atmosphere and confidence that puts it in the running with some of the best cities in Europe. Nothing indicates this more than the fantastic choice of first class restaurants on the culinary map.

There was a time when an enjoyable meal after a night out involved a fish supper or a Chinese or Indian takeaway, and although these are still readily available there are no longer such limits to the food you can enjoy.

This is clear to see in the hundreds of restaurants dotted around Glasgow, the diversity is quite apparent, with top chefs and restaurateurs realising the city's great potential. Just how far Glasgow has come on the dining out scene is reflected in the great selection of eateries in and around Glasgow, offering many dishes from around the world.

From Italian to Greek to Japanese and traditional Scottish dishes, whatever your taste buds desire you will be catered for. Dining out in Glasgow is impressive not only due to the great diversity in prices and cuisine, but the range, from large international food chains to small locally owned bistros and bars.

This is a pleasant surprise to Glasgow's visitors, offering some of the best produce in the world, gathered from Aberdeen to the Highlands. If you would rather have something spicier, then where better to try out your favourite Indian restaurant in the place that has been twice voted 'Curry Capital of the Year'. Whatever you are looking for food wise, you are likely to find it in Glasgow.
